Review by hotel critic
Just had a fantastic experience at Le Marius that deserves some attention. As a bloke from Melbourne, often on the lookout for sustainable travel options, I wasn't quite prepared for the culinary delights nestled in this quaint hotel. After a long drive from England, we were welcomed with a chilled glass of Champagne, which set the tone for our evening. The restaurant offered bar snacks, but we opted to venture into town, where we discovered La Galette Ricetonne. Oh boy, the rare Burgundy rosé was exceptional, and I was pleasantly surprised to find dishes crafted with locally sourced ingredients. It's these hidden gems that make a culinary getaway worthwhile. The breakfast in the charming upstairs room was a personal highlight—freshly baked bread paired with delectable fig jam created a delightful start to the day. We even stocked up on jam to take home, a testament to our culinary whims. Plus, the view of the church from the terrace was a serene backdrop that complemented the interesting wines we sampled during our stay. I’d say Le Marius is worth considering for a stop. It’s the kind of place that ties in local culture and genuine hospitality—perfect for food enthusiasts like myself.
